The Joint Commission Accreditation

St. Francis is accredited by The Joint Commission. As the nation’s oldest and largest health care accrediting body, The Joint Commission awards accreditation after a team of surveyors meet with personnel, patients and visitors; observe the delivery of care; and review systems and processes to assess the organization’s compliance with standards.

As an independent, not-for-profit organization, The Joint Commission’s mission is “to continuously improve the safety and quality of care provided to the public,” which coincides with St. Francis Hospital ‘s mission “to provide services and programs that improve the health of our community through a Catholic healing ministry.”

Society of Chest Pain Center Accreditation

The Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC) is an international not-for-profit organization that focuses on transforming cardiovascular care by assisting facilities in their effort to create communities of excellence that bring together quality, cost and patient satisfaction.

The Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI at St. Francis Hospital has demonstrated its expertise and commitment to quality patient care by meeting or exceeding a wide set of stringent criteria and undergoing an onsite review by a team of SPCP’s accreditation review specialists.

The Joint Commission’s emphasis on clinical practice guidelines help organizations establishes a consistent approach to care, reducing the risk of error.
