The St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary supports the hospital through their many services and committees. Each auxilian is vital to the Auxiliary's effectiveness within the hospital.
Book Cart: The Book Cart is a free service offered by the Auxiliary to patients and family members. Volunteers deliver magazines throughout the hospital.
ICU/CCU Waiting Room: The ICU/CCU Waiting Room is provided for the convenience and support of those who have patients in the coronary care and intensive care units. Due to the nature of these areas, visitors are permitted at brief, designated times and wait in this area. Volunteers assist staff and lend support to families.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Office: Volunteers assist with clerical duties. They file forms, address envelopes and perform other general office work.
Cheer Cart: The Cheer Cart offers a variety of soft drinks, snacks and toiletries to patients, visitors and employees. Volunteers sell the merchandise, push the cart and spread good cheer.
Clerical: Many departments in the hospital need help filing, typing, answering phones, computer work and other similar activties.
Emergency Room: The Emergency Room is an important pubic relations area where patient confidentiality is extremely important. Volunteers sit with a patients, act as a liaisons with staff and patient families.
Gift Shop: The Gift Shop provides convenient shopping for employees, visitors and patients and also provides revenue for the Auxiliary. Volunteers act as salespeople, help with displays and other things needed to run a retail business.
Information Desk: First impressions of St. Francis Hospital are made at the Information Desk in the front lobby. These volunteers work closely with admissions personnel by giving information to visitors and entering patients and assisting with telephone calls.
Transport Service: Transport Service volunteers transport patients to and from surgery, recovery, ICU/CCU units, Emergency Room and various other areas along with hospital personnel. They also perform errands for all nursing units. This service requires physical activity.
Patient Services: Volunteers come in direct contact with the patient as they deliver mail, care for flowers and serve food trays, juice and ice. They help the nursing staff in any way requested.
