St. Francis Hospital’s Marie McIntosh Recognized as G.R.E.A.T. Ambassador
Monday, May 24, 2010

Marie McIntosh, RN, was recently named as St. Francis Hospital’s G.R.E.A.T. Ambassador. Created by the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA), this designation celebrates and showcases the commitment and caring that hospital employees bring to their job, community and to the Georgia health care industry. The G.R.E.A.T. Ambassador Program, which stands for Giving Recognition for Excellence, Advocacy and Teamwork, provides hospital employees the opportunity to tell their personal stories about how they chose a health care profession, why they like their job and what they like about working for their hospital.

Marie’s journey to the health care profession was not easy. With limited financial resources, she enlisted in the military and saved for college. “Getting here was a journey, but I believe that God created me to be a caregiver,” says Marie. “I felt honored and humbled when I learned I was named a G.R.E.A.T. Ambassador. It is a privilege to give back to a profession that has given me purpose.”

Marie McIntosh is an ideal recipient for St. Francis’s G.R.E.A.T. Ambassador recognition,” says Debbie Saylor, MSN, RN, Senior Vice President, Patient Care Services, St. Francis Hospital. “She represents everything St. Francis Hospital stands for: putting the patient first, providing top quality health care and commitment and dedication to evidence-based practice.”
