History

St Francis Hospital has established a reputation for high-quality and compassionate care over the past 56 years. It is one of Georgia’s finest hospitals and the region’s premier provider of cardiac care. As a private, not-for-profit community hospital, it is owned by the citizens of the area that it serves.

St. Francis Hospital opened in 1950 as a 154-bed facility on 21 acres of pasture land. It has grown into a 376-bed facility that provides a wide array of services that meet the health care needs of West Georgia and the surrounding area. Services include cardiac care, orthopaedics, emergency services, rehabilitation, home medical equipment, women’s services, behaviorial health and many others. Additionally, Franciscan Woods offers, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments for assisted living and respite care.

St. Francis has approximately 1,800 associates and 265 board-certified physicians.
