Dr. Atif Iqbal, MD

Dr. Atif Iqbal, a spine and injection therapy specialist joined the St. Francis Spine and Neurosurgery Center February 2. Dr. Iqbal comes to Columbus via Albany, NY, where he was the attending physician and chief resident at the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at the Albany Medical Center.

Dr. Iqbal earned his medical degree from the Rawalpindi Medical College at the University of the Punjab in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He completed a fellowship in pain medicine at the Medical College of Georgia in 2008 and has a special interest in injection therapy for the spine.

Articles by Dr. Iqbal have been published in the “Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation” and the “Albany Medical Review.” He has presented on various topics, such as peripheral nerve trauma and recover, narcotics in pain management, cervicogenic headaches, diagnosis and treatment options of complex regional pain syndrome, pain management in pregnancy and lactation, among others.
